Kelly Ripa got it right when she called Southpaw star Jake Gyllenhaal “perfect” this week.
The morning talk show hostess went all weak at the knees at the sight of Jake Gyllenhaal on his appearance of Live With Michael and Kelly to promote his flick Southpaw.
As soon as he walked out onto the stage, Kelly Ripa asked if she could rub his beard. When he obliged her request, she gushed to the audience, “Oh, it’s soft!”
It was almost embarrassing when Kelly Ripa asked Jake if he uses beard conditioner.
“No, it’s genetic,” replied Gyllenhaal.
After a few minutes of pleasantries, Ripa finally exclaimed, “Oh…wow you are perfect, aren’t you?”
And his answer? “Totally perfect.”
Way to own it, Jake!

Jake Gyllenhaal truly is a fine specimen as the world can attest, but he has made it clear that the chiseled body he has attained to play a boxer in Southpaw did not come without some hard work.
His trainer, Terry Claybon, told E! News that Jake Gyllenhaal went from 147 pounds to a ripped 175 pounds in just six months.

“He wasn’t in any shape at all,” Claybon said. “We met at a boxing gym, and he was jumping rope. Just the way he was jumping rope, I knew we had a lot of work to do.”
The workout sessions included at least “2,000 sit-ups a day, push-ups, dips, flipping 350 pound tires, and running eight miles five days a week.”
There you go Kelly Ripa … that explains it.
