Kelly Clarkson has just announced to the world that she is pregnant. The former American Idol star is expecting her first child with her husband, Brandon Blackstock.
Clarkson made it no secret that she wanted to get pregnant earlier this year, when saying that wanted to be pregnant by Christmas, and now her wish has come true.
Although the baby will not make it in time for the holidays, it will certainly be a gift to the couple knowing that they have a baby on the way.
The news also comes quickly, since the couple just got married on Ocotober 20th, in an intimate ceremony in Tennessee.
While Kelly Clarkson did not always want to start a family when growing up, she certainly did not waste any time in declaring that she wanted one after her marriage with Blackstock. She revealed her big excitement for the pregnancy when talking to Parade Magazine.
Clarkson clearly wants her first child to be a girl too, and said “I’m totally gonna have a girl. I’m manifesting it! And when I have a girl, you’re gonna be like, ‘That chick knew it!”

Her husband already has two children from his previous relationship, but Clarkson would love a biological child of her own.

She grew up with an uneasy childhood after her parents split up when she was only five years old, hindering her family life at a young age. Due to their early divorce, her idea of a family had been ruined at a young age, making her remark “I didn’t really grow up in a family environment. So I didn’t understand it or know if I could do that properly.”

Kelly Clarkson has grown a lot since that age, and changed her mind about the idea of starting a family. It must also help to see her husband interacting with his kids, and knowing that he would be a great dad when they did start their own family together. She said that he is a great dad, and that it is a turn on to see him with the kids.
