  • Kayo Redd, the younger brother of rapper Waka Flocka Flame, reportedly died of a gunshot wound on Sunday. No confirmation of his death by gunshot wound has been officially announced. Some rumors say he was shot by someone else, while other rumors claim he died by suicide. The aspiring rapper’s death was confirmed, however, by his mother via social media.

Debra Antney, mom to both Kayo Redd and Waka Flocka, took to social media to announce her son’s passing. This is the second time Antney has lost a child. She lost another son in a car crash back when Waka was just 13 years old.

Losing a child has to be the greatest anguish any parent can endure. For Debra Antney to have now lost two sons tragically is practically unfathomable. The grief she is experiencing is no doubt excruciating. Hopefully she is surrounded by close family members and friends who will sustain her during this current devastation.

Kayo Redd was known for two mixtapes–Red Kisses and YNS 2: Full Time Grind, released in 2013 and 2012, respectively.

Debra Antney once managed Nicki Minaj, who reached out with her words of condolence, along with a picture of Kayo Redd via Instagram.

“Devastated by the loss of this precious soul… Always so sweet to me… I cant even… Sending prayers and all my love to Deb, Waka, Wooh, Quam, Big Joe, Bimmy, the entire fam… Gone too soon Kayo… Gone way too soon,” Minaj wrote.

Updates will surely confirm shortly the actual way Kayo Redd died, however what remains certain is that another young rapper has died much too soon. Condolences are no doubt pouring in from all around the world to both Debra Antney and Waka Flocka over the untimely passing of their beloved son and brother.
