Kato Kaelin, the man made famous during the O.J. Simpson trial for his long, rambling testimony and odd statements about Simpson’s behavior, has allegedly given an interview to the New York Post saying that now he feels safe enough to tell the truth about his feelings toward the ex-football star.

“The statute of limitations has now passed . . . so I can now say . . . yes, he did it.”

Kaelin allegedly said he didn’t tell the truth during the trial because he was “terrified” and that afterward, people hated him. Now, says writer Cindy Adams, he wants to set the record straight.

However, the Daily Mail has reported that Kaelin says he never said those things.

“I would never say something like this… I have no first hand knowledge,” he’s quoted as saying.

The Simpson trial has been back in headlines recently because of accusations that the defense tampered with a crucial bit of evidence–the infamous gloves which didn’t fit O.J.’s hand when he tried them on–and a request that an investigation be performed. Simpson, meanwhile, is currently serving 33 years for armed robbery.
