Karrueche Tran, Chris Brown, and Rihanna all wound up at the same place, at the same time on Sunday. The three attended the 2015 BET Awards, where Chris Brown performed–first with Tyga and Omarion, then later in the show alongside Nicki Minaj.

Rihanna seemed to enjoy watching Chris Brown perform, despite the couple’s rocky past. Brown was arrested back in 2009 for arresting the ‘Bitch Better Have My Money’ singer. They got back together a few years later while Brown was dating Karrueche Tran.

Karrueche Tran and Chris Brown broke up just recently, after she learned he fathered a child–a little girl named Royalty–with model Nia Guzman. Tran has behaved admirably since the split, but the same can’t be said for Brown. He has approached her in public in his attempts to win her back, and even showed up at her doorstep during the wee hours once.

“I make it so we don’t have to cross paths so it’s not awkward,” Karrueche Tran said last month. “But I do get on Instagram and there’s people tagging us, or I’ll hear a song or something… I kind of just have to block it out.”

Tran walked the red carpet at the 2015 BET Awards Sunday, sporting white hair and a black bralette covered by a snakeskin jacket.

Was Karrueche Tran worried about running into Rihanna?

No.

“We just dated the same guy, and that’s kind of what it is,” Tran said. “It’s always a competition thing and they compare us, but she is Rihanna. She’s a pop star and she’s beautiful and she makes great music, and I’m just me and I’m growing and working into myself. You can’t compare us because we’re two completely different girls.”

If anyone was nervous about a chance encounter on Sunday, it was likely Chris Brown.
