Julia Roberts Shares The Secret To Making Her Marriage Work

Julia Roberts went through her fair share of dating until she found the right man, and now she and husband Danny Moder have been together for 13 years. Roberts says that the key to making a marriage work is pretty simple, however, and it doesn’t just apply to celebrity couples even though being in the public eye makes them stand apart from the rest of us.

Roberts sat down with Mario Lopez recently to talk about her family life and said that for her, one of the secrets to keeping a relationship in good working order is plenty of kissing. She also said that when they got the chance to work together on her new film, Secret In Their Eyes–Moder was the cinematographer–there was a nice new level to their marriage that doesn’t exist in everyday life.

“If we got to go to work together and go home together, all that work time, when you come home and ‘Oh, honey, how was your day?’ … We did all that in the day and in the car. So when we got home we got to put that all away, which was really delightful,” Roberts said.

Julia got an emotional shoutout last month from her friend Serge Normant–who is also her hairstylist–at the InStyle Awards, where Normant won Hairstylist of the Year.

“I wouldn’t be anything without you guys. Honestly, being able to be on the same path and being allowed to work on your manes, and you giving me faith in me — for a little boy coming from north of Paris to new york and LA — it’s a big deal. Julia, I love you with all my heart, and I know you said the most amazing things about me, and I want to say I adore you and you have made me a better person as well — I wouldn’t be where I am today if I didn’t know you,” Normant said to Julia Roberts.
