If you thought a primetime special about Judge Judy is what’s been missing from your evening line up, you’re in luck. CBS will air Judge Judy Primetime on May 20 at 8 p.m.
The one-hour program will feature new cases and explore how Judge Judith Sheindlin went from a New York Family Court judge to the Judge Judy star who graces the television screens of millions each day.
The special will also air clips from the 1993 60 Minutes segment that led to Sheindlin being discovered by Hollywood, in addition to the judge’s popularity on the late night circuit.
Sheindlin’s “Judyisms” were the focus of parodies on shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Saturday Night Live. The program will feature clips of the comedians speaking the one-liners.
Here are some of the judge’s best:
The Judge Judy daily daytime series has been the top show in first-run syndicate for the last three years, and No. 1 in daytime for four straight seasons. The show has also been the top courtroom program in the United States since its debut in 1996 and is licensed in more than 125 markets.
Watch the no-nonsense judge in action:
Isn’t that special?
