  • When 19 Kids and Counting stars Josh and Anna Duggar moved to Washington, D.C., the questions started flying:

Might Josh Duggar be running for office?

The official story was that Josh was moving to the Capital to work with the Family Research Council, a conservative organization that is involved in lobbying. Josh Duggar was brought on board to work with FRC Action, a lobbying arm of the Family Research Council.

Duggar said he moved to work with FRC Action because he believes that, “Our faith is really under attack right now.”

But Josh is also being billed as “The New Face of Faith and Politics.” And some wonder if he is being groomed for a future run for office.

Recently Josh spoke with the Washington Post about their move to D.C.

“Politics is quite a game,” he admitted, “it puts things in perspective.”

As for his political future, “I’m not planning to run anytime soon,” he said. “My focus is supporting those people who are doing the right thing.”

Josh’s mom Michelle got involved in a local political issue that caught a lot of flak for her and her family. She recorded a robocall message for a campaign against a local Fairness ordinance that would allow transgender folks to use public bathrooms that they identify with.

    Michelle’s robocall said:

“The Fayetteville City Council is voting on an ordinance this Tuesday night that would allow men – yes I said men – to use women’s and girls’ restrooms, locker rooms, showers, sleeping areas and other areas that are designated for females only. I don’t believe the citizens of Fayetteville would want males with past child predator convictions that claim they are female to have a legal right to enter private areas that are reserved for women and girls.”
