  • Comedian Amy Poehler recently dished about her love life to Howard Stern on his radio show, and it included a confession about going on a date with John Stamos. Poehler revealed that Stamos asked her to dinner while they were working on the movie They Came Together, in which she starred with Paul Rudd.

“He did a little bit in a movie that I did and a bunch of us hung out,” she told Stern. “Then later on he’s like, ‘Let’s go get dinner.’ And it was fine.”

Poehler said that she was struck by how handsome Stamos was during their date. “I think if you just are around him you are… handsome men are really something else. First of all, they’re so handsome. And John is…” she said, before Stern interrupted with, “Ridiculously handsome?”

Poehler said that she felt like she “blew it” with Stamos because she started second-guessing if it was a date and then realized she was wearing a “Leslie Knope” top during dinner with him at the restaurant. Leslie Knope is the character she plays on Parks And Recreation.

Stamos apparently didn’t end the night inviting Poehler to his apartment, which suited the Parks And Recreation star just fine. “Well I think everything ended up the way it was supposed to end up,” she said.

Poehler said that she was more used to dating people she already knew, such as her current boyfriend Nick Kroll, who stars in The League. “It’s great to not live with somebody! I don’t know if I ever want to live with somebody else again,” she said about dating again.

She acknowledged that her ex-husband, Will Arnett, knew Kroll. Despite the end of their marriage, Arnett and Poehler seem to be on good terms with each other. “As you know, Will and I are very, very good friends. We are doing a really good job. I don’t think a 10-year marriage constitutes a failure. I think relationships are really tough,” she said.
