If you’re like me, Jimmy Kimmel’s post-Oscars show is one of the best things about Oscar night. After the 3+ hour award ceremony and some questionable bits from host and presenters alike, Kimmel’s broadcast usually serves as a a nice refreshment.
This year, he’s hit another homerun with his star-studded trailer for the upcoming film “Movie: The Movie.” Here’s how Jimmy introduced the bit:
On Oscar night, we’re reminded of how many different genres of film there are – there’s drama, adventure, comedy, romantic comedy, action, there are dozens of them. But the problem is you usually only get one or two genres per film.
So four months ago, I set out to make the biggest, most star-studded film in the history of American cinema. Something that pack everything moviegoers love into one spectacular motion picture event, and tonight, my dream has been realized.
It’s billed as a “romantically comic political action thriller drama, based on the novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire.” Check it out for appearances by many of Hollywood’s biggest stars like George Clooney, Matt Damon, Helen Mirren, Samuel L. Jackson, and so many more. Plus, there is a Goldblum sighting – which, as well all know, has the ability to take anything from ordinary to sublime.
As on YouTuber commented: “I laughed, I cried, I stood up and cheered. This was way better than The Artist!” I don’t know, do you see a Best Picture Oscar in the future for Movie: The Movie?
