Jessica Lange On Caitlyn Jenner Comparisons: “That’s So Wonderful”

Jessica Lange told reporters she didn’t quite understand what “trending on Twitter” meant since she’s not very internet savvy, but she did understand what everyone was saying about Caitlyn Jenner, and said she thinks the comparisons are “so wonderful”.

The American Horror Story actress was told that Caitlyn Jenner’s new Vanity Fair cover was drawing comparisons to her own look, and although she hadn’t seen the photo at the time, she was supportive.

“That’s so wonderful. Well, now I’m going to have to look for that picture,” she said. “Trending on Twitter because Caitlyn Jenner is on the cover — you see I don’t do any of this stuff, the Internet. So I have no clue when people use this terminology. I have to repeat it to understand.”

Caitlyn Jenner–formerly known as Bruce Jenner–nearly blew up the web on Monday when the cover was released, showing off her dramatic new look after having surgery to transition to a female. The accompanying story went in-depth with Caitlyn and her family members, some of whom said that after a bumpy relationship with Bruce, the hope is that Caitlyn is in a better place.

“I feel like he’s been the closest to us and the best parent when he’s been moving toward his true identity,” his daughter Cassandra said.

Caitlyn will soon be the subject of her own docu-series on E!, apart from the Kardashians’ various shows, but she says her four oldest children won’t be a part of it. For them, the idea of such a show was scary as they envisioned another “circus” similar to the other reality shows on the network. But Caitlyn says it’s probably for the best.

“I think it’s better for the show right now. It keeps me on point and doesn’t distract with all the family issues,” she said.
