Jessa Duggar Admitted She Was Josh Duggar’s Victim, Is Instagram Post Aimed at His Sin of Cheating on Anna Duggar?

Jessa Duggar admitted via a televised interview that she was, in fact, one of Josh Duggar’s sexual molestation victims. She and sister Jill Duggar claimed they had forgiven their brother, however.

In a new Instagram post, Jessa Duggar shared some Scripture passages. Fans are no doubt wondering if the post is aimed at Josh Duggar and his even more recent fall from grace. It was just last week that Josh was outed for having two Ashley Madison accounts, after which he admitted to an addiction to pornography and to having cheated on his wife, Anna Duggar.

Many of the commenters on Jessa Duggar’s post clearly believe she is thinking of her brother when considering this Bible passage.

“actually, his behavior doesn’t show how he was raisedis bad, but that he’s not above sin. Obviously, what his parents thought was dealt with in the past, may have been temporarily, but was eventually reopened and better hidden. Given they changed things last time, I imagine they have this time too, but I’m sure it’s not how you desire to see them changed,” a commenter named 4pure.joy wrote.

Jessa Duggar didn’t caption her post.

“If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth,” the passage reads. “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanest us from all sin.”

“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Is Jessa Duggar admonishing her brother Josh in these passages or is she–once again–making excuses for him?

Jessa Duggar and her husband Ben Seewald are expecting their first baby in early November. Besides this post, the second of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s daughters to wed has remained silent about Josh Duggar’s latest scandal.

Josh Duggar issued a statement when he was outed last week.

“I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him,” he wrote in a statement on the family’s website.

Tony Perkins, the Family Research Council president–and Josh Duggar’s former boss–issued a statement in light of Josh’s latest confession.

“Last night we learned from online reports about allegations concerning Josh Duggar and then read his confession today,” he wrote in the statement. “We are grieved by Josh’s conduct and the devastating impact of his pornography addiction and marital unfaithfulness.”

“Our hearts hurt for his family, and all those affected by Josh’s actions,” he continued. “His deceitful behavior harms his family, his friends, his former coworkers, and the cause he has publicly espoused. Those of us who advocate for family values in the public square are held to a higher standard, and Josh’s failures serve as a painful reminder of the destructive effects of not living with integrity. We are praying for the family.”

While Josh’s actions clearly impact his family, Anna Duggar and Jessa Duggar are no doubt feeling that impact more than the rest. Jessa Duggar simply wants to proceed with her healthy pregnancy in a stress-free manner. Wife Anna Duggar gave birth to Josh’s fourth child just weeks before this latest scandal.

Maybe Jessa Duggar should get out of the country for a few weeks and join sister Jill Duggar Dillard and her family on their mission trip in Central America. Of course she would need permission from her doctor or midwife to travel, but it might be in her best interest to leave this scandal behind.

Do you think Jessa Duggar was once again forgiving her brother–and urging others to do the same–in her recent Instagram post?
