Six months ago, Jane Seymour announced that she and her husband, James Keach, had split up. Now, the actress has made the spit official by filing legal separation papers.
The couple had been married for 20 years and according to the documents filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, the have irreconcilable differences.
“Jane Seymour and James Keach confirm that they are separated and have been for several months,” the couple said in a statement to Us Weekly in April. “At this time they are negotiating the terms of their divorce.”
The statement continued saying: “They will continue their relationship as devoted parents to their children, as business associates and partners, and in their joint dedication to preserving and furthering the charitable endeavors that they’ve worked on throughout their marriage.”
After the announcement of their initial split, Seymour opened up about their separation during an interview on “The View”. “Obviously, it’s really devastating,” she said. “It did happen a while ago. It was sort of kept quiet.”
Even with the irreconcilable differences, Seymour says the two have and will remain close and raise their 17-year-old twin sons, Kristopher and John, together. “We open our hearts to one another. We respect one another,” she said. “We’ve been together 22 years, and we will be together the rest of our lives raising our children and doing things like the Open Hearts Foundation.”
