Moving in with Diamond Dallas Page may have been the best thing Jake “The Snake” Roberts could have done for his life, and his career.
Roberts, who retired from wrestling in early 2011, moved in with Page in 2012. Since then, Page has been helping the man who helped him start his wrestling career, to continue his clean and sober life and get in shape. Roberts battled with drug and alcohol addiction for many years, but according to his Twitter, he’s been drug free for almost a year and alcohol free for a little over a month.

The Snake is resurrecting his entertainment career, starring in the film, Heavy Water. Roberts plays, Jed, a homeless man who provides protection for the main character, River.
The Kickstarter page for the film explains how Roberts’ career as a wrestler helped with his portrayal of his character, Jed. “With a bit of molding, Jake’s experience as a professional wrestler translated into strong performances and brought a powerful presence to his character. His ability to improvise, take direction, and become the character shines through in his depiction of Jed.”
The former wrestler is even using his Twitter to reach out to fans to help fund the project, or at least spread the word about Heavy Water.
