It’s official. Bruce and Kris Jenner are not just living apart, they have announced in a joint statement, that they are separated.
It’s sad news for the couple, who have been married for 22 years. They were married in 1991 and have two children together, Kendall and Kylie Jenner. Both Bruce and Kris have children from previous marriages.
The statement given to E! News said: “We are living separately and we are much happier this way. But we will always have much love and respect for each other. Even though we are separated, we will always remain best friends and, as always, our family will remain our number one priority.”
Kris discussed the separation with Us Weekly also. “We are living apart. But there is no animosity. We are united and committed to our family,” she said, adding that there are no plans to divorce. “We ended a marriage, but that’s not the end of our friendship. I will always love him, but we are no longer a couple in that way.”
The announcement comes just days after Bruce’s son, Brody Jenner, confirmed that the couple had been living separately, but did not think that they were actually separated. He was quoted saying: “I stay out of their business, but as far as I’m concerned, they haven’t split up. Dad’s been in Malibu — he grew up out here — and the press has made a big deal of it. It’s nothing to do with them breaking up.”
Even though divorce papers have not been filed, Kris says that their marriage is over. “We ended a marriage, but that’s not the end of our friendship,” she said. “I will always love him, but we are longer a couple in that way.”
