A crash on I-95 in Southwest Philadelphia, near the Philadelphia International Airport, has left four injured including a seven-month-old baby.
According to CBS 3, two cars collided at approximately 6:15 pm on Tuesday, July 8. The impact of the crash caused one of the vehicles to flip over.
A man in his early 20s was ejected from one of the vehicles and was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania as a trauma case. A woman, also in her 20s, and her seven-month-old child were taken to Hahnemann Hospital and were listed as being in stable condition. Another woman was taken to Jefferson Hospital and was also listed in stable condition.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
This crash comes only days after two deadly crashes were reported over the holiday weekend. On Friday, July 4, a head-on collision on Interstate 80 in northern Utah killed a woman, Delphine John, and her two daughters, Deliah Ramirez and Anaya Orozco. Delphine’s boyfriend was taken to the hospital and was listed in critical condition. The driver of the other vehicle, Paul Mumford, who was driving the wrong way on the interstate, was updated to stable condition.
Another crash occurred on Sunday, July 7 in Utah. According to Utah Highway Patrol, a van carrying five people tried to pass another vehicle when it hit an oncoming sports car that was carrying two passengers. The sports car burst into flames killing both individuals, along with three people from the van. The other two people in the van were taken to the hospital in serious condition.
