The holidays are a time when many people like to bake and make treats to enjoy at holiday parties or with friends and family members. Many children like to cook and bake as well and might enjoy helping out in the kitchen. Here are a few yummy holiday dessert recipes that kids might enjoy making and eating.

Reindeer Noses
These easy snacks are fun and delicious and are great for class parties or just enjoying at home. To make them you will need a bag of pretzels, either the circles or the squares, M&M’s and Hershey Kisses. Lay out your pretzels on a microwave-safe plate and than add a Hershey kiss to each one. Put the plate in the microwave for 30 seconds and then push the Hershey kiss down with the M&M to make it flat. The treats resemble a reindeer’s nose.

Santa Snacks
Most kids don’t think about eating healthy, but you may be able to trick them with these tasty and cute snacks. For these treats you will need bananas, strawberries, marshmallows and icing. Slice the bananas and cut the bottom off of each strawberry. Cut the marshmallows in half as well. Place half of a marshmallow on a tray and add a drop of icing and a banana slice. Add another drop of icing, a piece of strawberry and the other half of the marshmallow to create a Santa Claus. Use the icing to draw a face on Santa. You can also use other types of fruit instead, such as grapes or melon.

Snowman Doughnuts
These cute little snowmen are almost too adorable to eat, but kids won’t be able to resist them. To make them you will need a bag of white powdered sugar doughnuts, wooden skewers, icing and licorice. Stack three doughnuts on the skewers and use the icing to add buttons, eyes and a mouth to the snowman. Use the licorice pieces to make a nose and a scarf.

Give these recipes a try and spend some quality time with your kids this holiday season.
