  • Thirty-eight-year-old Bill Beckwith, the popular carpenter who starred on HGTV’s Curb Appeal, tragically died in a motorcycle accident in San Francisco. Beckwith’s motorcycle was hit around 8:30 on Monday night close to Oak Street and Steiner Street. The driver involved in the accident has cooperated with authorities. At this time, there are no present reports indicating whether charges will be filed.

Beckwith was sent to San Francisco General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Officials for Curb Appeal released a statement about the tragic loss of the star that read as follows: “The HGTV family is deeply saddened by Bill’s untimely death and we mourn his loss along with his many family and friends who will miss his creativity, adventurous spirit and general love of life.”

On October 21, 2013, Beckwith had tragically shared his thoughts about the dangers of traffic and how fleeting life is through a message that read, “Was the first one out of my truck this a.m. at a head-on collision, made sure everyone was breathing and then directed traffic. A solid reminder that our lives can change at any instant, and to be grateful for what I have right now.”

Beckwith was raised on a vegetable farm in Maine where he spent time working on carpentry projects while tinkering in the farm’s workshop. Beckwith attended University of Montana where his studies included English as well as martial arts. However, the talented carpenter decided to pursue other talents and moved to California to eventually become a licensed contractor. Beckwith was able to use his skills when remodeling the exterior to homes through his involvement in Curb Appeal. Fans of the show will miss seeing his creative talents at renovation.
