You could easily argue that Castlevania: Lords of Shadow had simplistic combat. Sure, there was a combo system in place, but it really couldn't compete with the likes of God of War or Devil May Cry. With Lords of Shadow 2, it looks like the team is stepping up its game with a variety of weapons that can be switched on the fly for custom combos.
In the latest trailer for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, we're treated to a look at the Void Sword weapon. Compared to Gabriel's combat cross, the void sword doesn't have much of a reach. It makes up for this, however, through its ability to steal the life force of all those it comes into contact with.
Beyond the void swords specific ability, we're also treated to a look at a number of combat combos in the game. While there hasn't been anything specific said about the combo system, it looks like Lords of Shadow 2 will be putting a greater emphasis on keeping a combo chain going.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 will be out on February 25 for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
