Hannah Graham, a University of Virginia student who has been missing since September 13, has a lot of people searching for her after surveillance footage was released showing her last moments before she vanished. Now her parents have spoken out about her disappearance, saying she’s not the type of person to take off without letting anyone know, and they want answers.
“Who saw Hannah? Somebody knows what happened to Hannah,” John Graham said at a press conference.
Graham was last seen at a bar not far from campus, and around 1 a.m. she texted a friend saying she was lost. Surveillance cameras at a gas station captured her walking, then running, not long after she was seen talking to a man.
Stephen Rice, a band director at West Potomac High School, knew Hannah and said she “was very diligent with everything she did, and always did everything exactly by the book. Hannah is not the kind of kid that would just go on a road trip and disappear.”
Jesse Matthew, the man allegedly seen with Graham at the bar, has been questioned by police and allowed a search of his car and home. He has not been charged in connection with Graham’s disappearance, but a warrant was issued for his arrest after he left the police station at high speed and reportedly drove so recklessly that officers had to abandon the chase.
