Half Price Books said today it has launched HPB.com, which features its new online web store, HPB Marketplace.

Through a partnership with Monsoon Commerce Solutions, a company that powers websites for online retailers, Half Price Books has begun selling books, music and media online.  The company says its website will give users access to more than 120 million book, movie and, music titles sold through Half Price Books and other independent sellers. Previously the company offered its inventory via third- party sellers such as Amazon and Half.com.

“Half Price Books is pleased to offer an online shopping option to our customers, both in our markets and around the world,” said Kathy Doyle Thomas, executive vice president of Half Price Books.

“HPB.com will allow our customers to track down a specific book they may not find in our brick and mortar locations.”

HPB.com also includes social media elements like the company's latest tweets on the homepage, the ability to “like” a specific retail location on Facebook, and check in on Foursquare. Users can find one of Half Price Books' 110 locations with a zip code locator on each page, which includes exterior and interior pictures of each store.
