Gwyneth Paltrow Finally Allows Children Apple and Moses to Consume Sugar

  • Gwyneth Paltrow was on the outs with parents everywhere a couple of years back when word broke of the kinds of foods she allowed children Apple and Moses to consume. These days Paltrow seems less strict with her food rules, and even allows the children some treats that contain sugar.

The Huffington Post noted a recent photo of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s son Moses. In the shot the boy is beside his father at a basketball game, and is clearly enjoying the cotton candy he is stuffing into his mouth. The HuffPost first assumed–as anyone would–that Chris Martin was allowing Moses a treat outside the confines of Gwyneth Paltrow’s home, as in one she wouldn’t see or hear about.

Apparently that’s not the case, however. During a recent interview with Yahoo Beauty, Paltrow admits she has eased up a bit on her food restrictions where the children are concerned.

“We are a pretty balanced house,” Paltrow said. “I mean, kids eat sugar. That’s how it goes. So we have organic snacks and we have Oreos, too, so.”

It wasn’t all that long ago–2013 to be exact–that people were concerned her kids weren’t getting enough to eat. Gwyneth Paltrow claims there was lots of “misinformation” written about the dietary restrictions she allegedly imposed.

“Every single nutritionist, doctor and health-conscious person I have ever come across seems to concur that [gluten] is tough on the system and many of us are at best intolerant of it and at worst allergic to it,” Paltrow wrote back in 2013, in her cookbook titled It’s All Good. “Sometimes when my family is not eating pasta, bread or processed grains like white rice, we’re left with that specific hunger that comes with avoiding carbs.”

“I really believe in delicious food and enjoying life and not saying no to anything. But at the same time, you know, I think it’s important to understand what good nutrition does and make sure you maintain a balance,” she added. “For me the big things are really processed food and foods that have tons of chemicals and pesticides. I try to stay away from that, but I love French fries and cheese and martinis and all that kind of thing.”

So maybe Gwyneth Paltrow didn’t deem herself the food police after all?

Are you shocked to learn that Gwyneth Paltrow allows children Apple and Moses to consume sugar? If so, you’re certainly not alone.
