Gwen Stefani has been setting trends for years; when No Doubt first came on the scene in the ’90s with their album Tragic Kingdom, she had a blonde-bombshell-meets-ska look, complete with Marilyn hair and a chain wallet. She quickly moved on to blue hair, bindis, and belly-baring tops as her signature look, and soon every high school in America was following suit.

As the years went on, though, the singer took on a different look, one much more polished and glamorous. She’s never seen without perfectly applied lipstick and a platinum mane, despite being a hands-on mommy of two boys. Creatively, she hasn’t stopped churning out hits, whether it’s with her band or for her fashion line, L.A.M.B., so it’s no surprise that even when she’s in the late stages of pregnancy, she looks flawless.

The 44-year old mom-to-be stepped out recently and made headlines with her chic look–a plaid coat over an all-black ensemble, topped off with an oversize orange bag and boots–and has given pregnant ladies hope that there are ways to look classic and effortless while still maintaining the comfort necessary during a very long nine months. Of course, colder months are much easier to dress for when you have a large belly; sweater dresses and tights seem to be a favorite of Gwen’s.

Stefani and husband Gavin Rossdale haven’t divulged the sex of the baby yet, although she did put fans on alert when she posted a picture of a newborn baby boy on Twitter; however, it was just her nephew.
