Google has released an update for the Google+ app for Android, which has five new features. First, teens can now create and join hangouts from their mobile devices. Secondly, you can now join Hangouts On Air from your mobile device.

Other new features include:

– Floating timestamp in photos view
– Shortcuts for post creation
– Ability to report abuse in Events

The update seems to be getting a fair amount of negative feedback from users in the Google Play store. One user says, “New update has added a horrible flicker when you scroll from the top of the feed.”

Another says, “Now, nearby doesn’t work unless i turn on gps.”

Another says, “An interface update every couple of months is beginning to tire me out.”

The iPhone/iPad versions also got an update with the ability for teens to join and create hangouts. In that app, web links in posts also now open in Chrome (if installed). There were also some bug fixes for Instant Upload.
