Google has acquired Jetpac, which analyzes image and location data, and could improve Google’s ability to search through it.

“We can spot lipstick, blue sky views, hipster mustaches and more, through advanced image processing on billions of photos,” Jetpac claims.

It also says it has analyzed “every pixel of public Instagram photos,” which it used for its Jetpac City Guides feature.

A message announcing the acquisition on Jetpac’s site says:

Thank you for all your interest and support. We look forward to working on exciting projects with our colleagues at Google. We’ll be removing Jetpac’s apps from the App Store in the coming days, and ending support for them on 9/15.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
