Gone Girl was a best selling thriller in 2012 that asked readers if protagonist Nick Dunne killed his wife. It’s been two years since Gillian Flynn’s novel started to fly off store shelves, and now we have the first trailer for the film adaptation.
As you may or may not know, the film adaptation of Gone Girl is being directed by David Fincher and stars Ben Affleck as Nick Dunne. Here’s the official synopsis:
Based upon the global bestseller by Gillian Flynn, Gone Girl unearths the secrets at the heart of a modern marriage. On the occasion of his 5th wedding anniversary, Nick (Ben Affleck) reports that his beautiful wife, Amy (Rosamund Pike), has gone missing. Under pressure from the police and a growing media frenzy, Nick’s portrait of a blissful union begins to crumble. Soon his lies, deceits and strange behavior have everyone asking the same dark question: Did Nick kill his wife?
The first trailer gives us a look at Affleck’s performance as the tortured husband who may or may not have murdered his wife. Through this early look, we can already see that Affleck will be turning in another stellar performance. The rest of the cast seems fitting as well with Pike playing what may be two separate wives – one that may be a concoction of Dunne’s psyche and one that may be reality. In any case, it looks to be a fascinating film that will have viewers on the edge of their seats. Check it out:
