GoDaddy announced on Wednesday that it has acquired email marketing company Mad Mimi, whose offerings have been geared toward small businesses.

GoDaddy's efforts of late have also been focused specifically on small businesses, so boosting its email marketing efforts for the segment seems like a no-brainer.

Mad Mimi founder and CEO Gary Levitt said, "We built Mad Mimi with a vision to delight our customers and GoDaddy’s vision to champion small businesses matches Mad Mimi’s. Together with GoDaddy, we're incredibly excited to put simple and lovely email marketing in front of a whole new audience and help that audience discover the beauty and efficiency of marketing this way to customers.”

“Email marketing is critical," said Steven Aldrich, senior vice president of Business Applications at GoDaddy. "It helps small businesses connect to customers in a low-cost and easy to use way, effectively tapping into existing customer relationships, making the business of business easier. Mad Mimi’s email marketing application is a great solution to provide to our growing base of customers who will benefit from Mad Mimi’s high quality product and overall positive customer experience.”

Mad Mimi has provided an FAQ page for current users.

GoDaddy CEO Blake Irving told Levitt and Mad Mimi on Twitter, "You folks are awesome and we're gonna #KickAss together."

This is, of course, a reference to GoDaddy's "Ass-kicking" small businesses campaign, which began with those Van Damme ads last year.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. It looks like Mad Mimi is hosting a live Google Hangout today.
