Black Friday and Cyber Monday may be over, but there are still some good deals to be had if you’re just wrapping up your holiday shopping. If free shipping sounds like a good deal to you, then you’ll want to check out Free Shipping Day on Wednesday. More than 800 retailers will be participating in Free Shipping Day, and purchases made on Free Shipping Day are guaranteed to arrive by Christmas Eve.
Unlike many other free shipping offers, no minimum purchase will be required to be eligible for free shipping at participating retailers. Since shipping for a basic item such as a blouse can range from $5 to $10, the potential savings can really add up, especially if you have a lot of shopping left to do.
Check out a list of participating retailers at the Free Shipping Day website. You’ll notice many major retailers on the list, including Belk, REI, Bass Pro Shops, Kay Jewelers and Sony. If your favorite online retailer isn’t listed, you can select it from a drop-down list and request that they participate via Twitter.

While Free Shipping Day will certainly cut down on your spending a little (unless you roll over the savings into extra purchases), it’s also a good move for businesses. As most people know, this time of year is crucial for retailers, as the increased shopping due to the holidays can really make a difference in profits for the year. Does Free Shipping Day help retailers, even though each order may be setting them back several bucks?
According to Erin Jones of Erin’s Creations, the answer is yes. “Oh yeah, I think so, it is definitely a good deal, and definitely a good incentive. I have offered, once in a while, I have a sale where we do free shipping and it definitely helps,” said Jones.
