Nearly one year on from the mobile release of Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy fans have now gotten yet another title release for mobile platforms.
Square Enix today released Final Fantasy IV: The After Years for both iOS and Android. The game is available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play store for $16.
The game is set 12 years after the events of Final Fantasy IV. Several characters from the original game also appear in The After Years, including Cecil, Rosa, and Kain.
The After Years was originally released released in Japan in 2008 and features ten separate chapters. This english re-release includes all of those chapters, as well as a number of improvements. The game has been re-made from its original form for its smartphone release. It now includes full 3D character models, achievements, a mini map, and a few balance adjustments in gameplay. It also, of course, features new controls for touch screens.
A trailer for the title has also been released today. It shows off gameplay from the title and a run-down of all the different chapters and characters featured in the game:
