  • Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them has officially revealed its first peek into what the long-awaited Harry Potter prequel will look like.

In the first trailer for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Newt Scamander is an expert on fantastical beasts.

Newt brings a case, presumably full of such beasts, to New York city where some of them escape.

In reality, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is actually a book that is set up to look like a textbook that Harry and his friends would have encountered at Hogwarts.

However, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling created the character of Newt, played by Eddie Redmayne (is there a movie he isn’t in these days?), especially for the movie version of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Other stars of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them include Ezra Miller, Colin Farrell and Katherine Waterston. The story takes place 70 years before Harry Potter comes on the scene, in the 1920’s.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is directed by David Yates, who was the director for several Harry Potter movies. The screenplay was written by none other than J.K. Rowling.

The upcoming November 2016 release of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is really exciting for “Pot Heads” (Harry Potter fans, of course) everywhere!

The question now is, what will be the future of the franchise from here on out?
