Facebook Adds Quick Like Reply to Mobile Messages, Prevents You from Having to Use the Dreaded ‘K’

It’s a small update, but an interesting one. Facebook has added a new like button reply option inside mobile messaging that lets you confirm, like, agree with, basically give a generic positive affirmation to any message with one tap.

The new like reply option only appears when you receive a message on Facebook’s iOS and Android apps, plus m.facebook.com. Just tap the like button and you’ll send a quick “yeah” or “k” to your friend:

It’s that simple. Nothing monumental, but it is a time saver. Any other similar affirmative response would involve at least three clicks – this works in one.

The new like reply option doesn’t appear on Facebook’s desktop site, but the like replies made from mobile do appear. They look a bit funny when compared to the “like” sign you can generate on the desktop version using Facebook’s emoticon menu:
