Pitbull may be visiting a remote Wal-mart in Alaska after a publicity stunt goes horribly wrong. The Miami rapper entered into a marketing deal that would send him to the store that got the most likes on its Facebook page.
So far the winning store is in Kodiak, Alaska. A writer for the Boston Phoenix encouraged people to send him to the most remote Walmart possible, and it’s working. Right now the Kodiak Alaska Walmart has 42,000 likes, about 6 times the town’s population.
The rest of the Walmarts have until July 16 to pull ahead and save Pitbull from his frosty fate. Pitbull hopes that Miami will come to his rescue, but right now the top searched Miami Walmart locations have around 700 likes. They have a long way to go.
#exilepitbull Kodiak, Alaskas zipcode is 99615. please send pitbull here. #kodiakgirl
Pitbull retweeted this from a girl that actually lives in Kodiak, Alaska. We can only assume that she is the only one that actually wants him to go there because she likes him.
Kodiak is known for its thriving Kodiak brown bear population. A fact that Pitbull jokes about on Twitter. At least he’s being a good sport about it.
