Phil Robertson, patriarch of the Duck Dynasty clan and media firebrand, has more on his plate than just starring on the most successful reality television show in history, Of course, he has a business to run, the Duck Commander enterprise that brought fame to his door in the first place. But Robertson also busies himself with various ministries that take him far afield from his rural home.

Recently we told you about an encounter a young man had with Robertson at a weekly Bible study class at the White’s Ferry Road Church of Christ fronted by the Duck Dynasty star. After the class, Robertson took the young man to his own home, fed him lunch, and talked through his thoughts on ministry and spreading the gospel with him.

“He then told me to grab his Bible and open it,” the young man said. “He told me to turn to different scriptures, and then we rolled into a sermon.”

Sometimes, Robertson’s ministry heads into what he calls “river rat counseling”. In this mode, he has some unconventional advice for young men about how to find a good wife. His points include:

1) "Make sure she can cook a meal.”
2) “Make sure she carries her Bible."
3) “If she picks your ducks, now that’s a woman!”

Robertson says that finding such a woman is getting tough. “They’re gettin’ hard to find, mainly because these boys are waitin’ ’til they get to be about 20 years old before they marry them,” he advises. "Look, you wait ’til they get to be about 20 years old, the only pickin’ that’s gonna take place is your pocket!”

“You gotta marry these girls when they’re about 15, 16, they’ll pick your ducks,” Robertson said. “You need to check with mom and dad about that, of course.”

Robertson’s take on homosexuality is well known. After his GQ interview that plummeted his show’s ratings, he took to the pulpit on Easter Sunday and doubled down on his talking points.

"You say, 'Why'd they get mad at you?' 'Cuz instead of acknowledging their sin, like you had better do, they railed against me for giving them the truth about their sins," he said. “Don't deceive yourselves."

"The news media didn't even know it was a verse! They thought I was just mouthing off. Is homosexual behavior a sin? The guy asked me. I said, 'Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God?' Don’t be deceived."

Recently, it was announced that Robertson will be fronting an event that helps raise money for a ministry that seeks to convert Jews to Christianity. Tickets or the event cost as much as $10,000 for a package.

For that $10,000 you get:

* One Premium banquet dinner table (table seats 10)
