Drunk Dial a Random Member of Congress and Tell Them You Want to Watch the Damn Panda Cam

As the government shutdown continues, you should take a break from continually drunk dialing your ex and instead, drunk dial a member of Congress.

A new, single-service site called DrunkDialCongress wants you to call and yell at a random member of Congress - "whether you are a furloughed worker, being forced to work for free, or just fed up at Capitol Hill."

"As Members of Congress quickly returned from their final symbolic, non-effective and otherwise useless votes to avert a government shutdown, the heavy drinking began. Reports of our representatives getting plastered on the government's dime - the one we have left - have come streaming in from witnesses all over Capitol Hill. Now's your chance to tell your Representative what you really think of their actions," says the site.

Everyone from reporters to actual members of Congress have accused some congresspeople of getting loaded before casting votes. When you're not doing the job the American people are paying you to do, you know, govern, I guess there's nothing left to do but have a beer. Or twelve.

And when you can't go to the goddamned zoo or even watch a stupid panda because the panda cam has been shut down, I guess there's nothing else to do but have a beer (or twelve) and call a member of congress.

The site also provides you with possible talking points for your drunken ramblings. Things like "You jerks are costing the country $12 million per hour!" and "you guys think you are the same as the heroes of 9/11? Get a fucking grip!"

It also offers a few drink recipes to lubricate you to the point of pulling the trigger on the phone call.

The Daily Dot says that they were able to get through to multiple members of congress (or at least their secretaries) through the site. No such luck for me. Hopefully that's because people are actually doing this, in droves.
