  • Drew Barrymore loves being a mom and has never said any different.

Of course Drew Barrymore is human, despite the success she has had in her career, and has had her share of difficulties.

Drew Barrymore has been married to Will Kopelman since 2012 and they have daughters Olive, 3, and Frankie, 18 months.

After Frankie was born, Drew Barrymore admitted that she suffered from postpartum depression.

Drew Barrymore recently told People, “I didn’t have postpartum the first time so I didn’t understand it because I was like, ‘I feel great!’ The second time, I was like, ‘Oh, whoa, I see what people talk about now. I understand.’”

She added, “It’s a different type of overwhelming with the second. I really got under the cloud.”

Yes, postpartum depression is a very common problem among women, even after having no trouble with the first child like Drew Barrymore.

And, of course, Drew Barrymore struggles with work/life balance. Who doesn’t? I mean, she’s been working since ET! The girl’s gotta work.

Drew Barrymore said of her work and life, “I just got right on the idea of, where do I need to be the most? Fifty-fifty would be ideal but life doesn’t work like that. Life is messy.”

Yep. Fifty-fifty is really hard to accomplish, and if one of the categories has to suffer, it’s hard to make it to where the more important priority, home and family, doesn’t suffer.

Drew Barrymore said of the challenge, “It was just really challenging and I felt overwhelmed. I made a lot of decisions and I definitely changed my work life to suit my parenthood.”
