This past week, Doctor Who fans were given another teaser for the upcoming 50th anniversary special “The Day of the Doctor,” airing on November 23rd, 2013. This is a moment that all “Whovians” are looking forward to, because it celebrates a great milestone in the life of the British science fiction show.

The Anniversary Tribute video (shown below) was released by the BBC on Saturday, October 19th, 2013, and was also released by various other BBC-affiliated networks, such as BBC America. The high-resolution video gives the viewer a glimpse of “The Day of the Doctor,” along with highlighting various other Doctors throughout the show’s history, starting from William Hartnell (First Doctor) through to David Tennant (Tenth Doctor), and finishing out the tribute with Matt Smith (Twelfth Doctor). The tribute also shows the different versions of the Doctor’s handy tool, the Sonic Screwdriver, that have been used throughout the show’s history.

Narrated by Matt Smith, the trailer describes why the Doctor does what he does, as well as a brief synopsis of what “The Day of the Doctor” will be about…

“I have been running all my lives through time and space. Every second of every minute of every day for over 900 years, I’ve fought for peace in a universe at war. Now, the time has come to face the choices I made in the name of the Doctor. Our future depends on one single moment of one impossible day. The day I’ve been running from all my life. The Day of the Doctor.”

This tribute to the Doctor Who 50th anniversary comes shortly after teasing stills of the show were released last week, showing Matt Smith, David Tennant, Jenna-Louise Coleman, Kate Stewart, and John Hurt.

As you can see from the image below, a “behind-the-scenes” look of the opening scene of the trailer has been released and is floating around Twitter.
