The Wall Street Journal is reporting some new details about the next version of the iPad, based on what "people familiar with the matter" have revealed. Apple has not yet officially commented.
According to the report, the next iPad will be available through both AT&T and Verizon, and will be thinner, lighter, and will have at least one camera on the front. It is also reported to have more memory and a more powerful graphics processor.
The next version will no doubt be able to ride the success wave of its predecessor. While it is starting to see competition that wasn’t around when the first one launched, the iPad is still the most popular tablet these days.
When Apple announced its first quarter results last month, it said it had sold 7.33 million iPads in that quarter alone. Since its release, the company has reportedly sold 14.8 million.
The next iPad is expected to launch within the next couple months. The simple fact that it will be available through Verizon will be huge for continued iPad sales. Last week, Verizon iPhones became available for pre-order.
