Denzel Washington is a busy man and it doesn't look like that will change anytime soon!
The two-time Academy Award-winning actor, who's approaching his 60th birthday in just a couple months, was asked about an aspect of his career he hasn't touched on yet - retirement.
The famed Training Day actor chatted with E! News over the weekend at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Washington, who was in attendance promoting his latest film The Equalizer, shared some interesting details about his career.
When asked about retirement, the 59-year-old actor stated that he has no plans of retiring anytime soon. As a matter of fact, he doesn't even think about it! He even pointed out some notable names in Hollywood that are also the epitome of longevity.
"Look, Clint Eastwood is 80-something, I think, and he's still directing," he said. "We don't have to retire. Gene Hackman retired when he was about 80. James Earl Jones is headed back to Broadway. He's gotta be closing in on 80, I guess."
"Morgan Freeman, too," Washington continued. "So you don't have to. No, it's actually good. I'm in the right profession."
Then, Washington touched on another interesting subject - James Bond! The iconic role was mentioned during a Reddit AMA when a user asked if Washington was interested in portraying the famous fictional character. Surprisingly, he answered with a resounding yes! His response actually became an impromptu campaign for the legendary leading role!
"The next James Bond? They better hurry up! Yes, I would! Who's doing James Bond now...Daniel Craig! Did they shoot another one? Everybody should tweet Denzel is James Bond! Send it to the studio!" he replied to user whose Reddit handle is BigTalk45. "We start the Denzel is Bond campaign today! James Washington. Denzel Bond!"
Although Denzel Washington isn't officially James Bond, fans can still get a piece of the action when his latest action thriller The Equalizer hits theaters nationwide September 26!
