Demi Lovato is reportedly leaving her judging gig on “The X-Factor” to focus on her singing career.
“She plans to spend next year completely focused on her music,” said a source. “She had a great run and a good time.”
The 21-year old singer and actress will have a busy year in 2014, as she’ll kick off a big arena tour in February. She has said she plans to take the month of January off, however, and get some things done that she hasn’t had time for.
“I will take the month of January completely off!” she said. “I want to vacation! I want to watch crime shows on my DVR on my couch … I need to do some exercising and I don’t really have time to do it. I love horseback riding and never get to do that stuff, but January is my time to do all of that.”
She has talked about taking on more acting roles, however.
“I think ultimately my main thing is singing,” she said. “Maybe movies once in a while, if the right role comes along.”
As for “The X-Factor”, there have been rumblings that it won’t even be renewed for another season after a huge ratings dip in 2013 as it competed with several similar shows. However, executive producer Simon Cowell says that’s just not the case.
βThe show will be back next season,β he said. β[It’s] got to be more different next year than it was this year. (I’m in) the middle of a presentation of what we think the show should look like and what the fans would like. And yes, my role could change.β
