DeMarcus Ware became the Denver Broncos’ last defensive addition in free agency Wednesday, when he agreed to a three-year, $30 million deal with the team.

The deal will reportedly pay Ware $13 million in 2014 – $250,000 more than he was slated to make with the Dallas Cowboys, who released him Tuesday.

The contract is contingent upon the 31-year-old Ware passing a physical exam Wednesday.

Ware, out of work less than 24 hours, apparently received attention from at least a dozen teams after Dallas let him go.

Along with Ware, the Broncos added quarterback Aqib Talib and safety T.J. Ward in less than a day as well. The latter two were acquired Tuesday.

“They’re trying to make a statement – a statement we’re a team to be reckoned with,” the 31-year-old Ware said.

“Their mentality is a ‘now’ mentality. Not looking forward to next season or the season after that, the time is now,” added Ware.

The Cowboys released Ware to save $7.4 million against the salary cap. Jerry Jones, the Cowboys’ owner and general manager, called the decision “extremely difficult” in a statement released Tuesday.
