With the cult hit that CD Projekt RED (CDPR) has on its hands in The Witcher series, it would be easy for them to sit back and run that franchise into the ground with sequels. Thankfully, the developers at the Polish studio are more ambitious.
Back in October, the CDPR announced that it is currently developing a science fiction RPG based on the pen and paper RPG Cyberpunk. Titled Cyberpunk 2077, the game will be an mature-themed sandbox RPG featuring futuristic weapons, implants, and gadgets. Now, less than three months on from that official announcement, it appears gamers will get a look at what Night City will look like in video game form.
Tom Ohle, director at Evolve PR today leaked over Twitter the fact that he is watching an early cut of the first Cyberpunk 2077 teaser trailer. His original tweet appears to have been deleted, but it has been immortalized on the NeoGAF forums, where the image below comes from.
Ohle followed up his proclamation by providing a few cryptic answers to fan questions. Those answers included the detail that the trailer will be released “Next weekish.” Some, but not all, of those tweets are still live:
@maxscoville You may be able to get it early, but only when it’s done. Still a draft version, and it’s making me feel all funny down there.

@maxscoville The trailer should help. Seriously, I love it. Speaking as a fanboy, and not as the PR guy.

Though it doesn’t seem as if CDPR has had enough time to develop anything trailer-worthy, fans of the developer and the Cyberpunk series could be in for a nice surprise. Judging from Ohle’s enthusiasm, the trailer should be pretty exciting.
