Most children who have two celebrity parents find it hard to avoid the spotlight, but Connor Cruise seems to have done so fairly well. Although he is an aspiring DJ and is not necessarily shy or trying to stay under the radar, he hasn’t appeared in many tabloids or been in the media much considering he is the son of Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise.

Tom and Nicole had two children together, Connor who is 19 and Isabella who is 21. After the marriage between Nicole and Tom ended in 2001, both Connor and Isabella chose to live with Tom instead of Nicole and it seemed as though their relationship with their mother was suffering.

Nicole rarely talked about Connor or Isabella, especially after she married her husband Keith Urban and had two other children, Sunday Rose, 5, and Faith Margaret, 3. Connor however, says that he has a solid relationship with his mother and that there are no hard feelings.

Nicole lives with Keith and their two daughters in Nashville half of the time and Australia the other half. Connor and Isabella live in California and rarely see their mother or two younger siblings. Connor said that this hasn’t affected his relationship with his mother.

“I love my mum,” he said. “I don’t care what people say, I know that me and Mum are solid.”

“I love her a lot,” he continued. “My family means everything. Yeah, I love my music, but the family comes before everything else.”

A source close to the family also said that Isabella and Nicole have a good relationship as well.

“Isabella does still speak to Nicole, as does Connor, just not as much as they used to when they were younger and Tom and Nicole were together,” the source said. “Nicole is far away and doesn’t visit L.A. often so there’s naturally going to be that distance.”

Many people have speculated that Nicole and her older children did not get along or have a good relationship because they had different religious views. Nicole however, has said that she respects her children’s religion.

It seems like that in spite of rumors, the family is getting along just fine and even though they do not see each other as often as they would like, they are still supportive of each other and stay in touch often.
