Fleetwood Mac’s publicist Liz Rosenberg confirmed to Billboard that the rumors are true…Christine McVie has rejoined the band.

“[McVie] has indeed re-joined Fleetwood Mac and we are hoping to make an announcement about a possible tour for the full tilt Macsters some time in 2014,” Rosenberg said.

McVie joined the band in 1970 after marrying the group’s bassist, John McVie. She served an integral role as a vocalist and keyboardist. Along with her many other talents, McVie had a knack for songwriting, and she wrote many of Fleetwood Mac’s top hits including: Don’t Stop, Everywhere, and Little Lies.

Rumors began circulating about McVie’s possible return in September 2013, when she agreed to perform with the group during two concerts while they were in London. “It was amazing, like I’d never left. I climbed back on there again and there they were, the same old faces on stage,” McVie said at the time.

“I like being with the band, the whole idea of playing music with them,” she continued. “I miss them all. If they were to ask me I would probably be very delighted … but it hasn’t happened so we’ll have to wait and see.”

Stevie Nicks seemed surprised that McVie thought she would have to be asked to come back to the band. “If Chris wants to come back to the band, I said to her, ‘It’s your band. I don’t really think you have to ask. Because it’s your band. McVie. Fleetwood Mac-vie? So, it all depends, Chris, on you. How you feel. Do you want to take this on again?'”

A Fleetwood Mac tour schedule, that will include McVie, will be released sometime in 2014.
