Chelsea O’Donnell has likely broken her mother’s heart. The 18-year-old adopted daughter of Rosie O’Donnell sat for an interview with Inside Edition in recent days that is set to air on Monday. In it she claims she doesn’t love Rosie O’Donnell.
This past summer, Rosie issued a plea via social media, for anyone with knowledge of Chelsea O’Donnell’s whereabouts to please contact police. She said at the time that the then-17-year-old had run away. She was located shortly thereafter in the home of a convicted drug dealer in New Jersey she had met online.

Chelsea O’Donnell says in the interview that she never ran away, but that Rosie O’Donnell kicked her out.
“She got upset with me because I wouldn’t talk to her,” she says. “And said she was getting all that stuff at work and didn’t need it at home and to take my dog and ‘have a nice life.’”
“I miss the rest of my family a lot but I think there is some much-needed space between me and Rosie. It’s been nice having that,” Chelsea O’Donnell adds.
Chelsea also insists she isn’t mentally ill–something Rosie O’Donnell stated in the online plea.
“I’m not mentally ill,” she says. “I’m in a good place in my life… Yeah I have anxiety and depression but I’m not a crazy person.”
As for loving Rosie O’Donnell, Chelsea was rather clear with her answer.

“I care about her and I hope she’s doing well. But love is a big word and I wouldn’t really use that.”
Kids often claim to dislike their parents–especially when they are telling them what they should be doing.
Do you think Chelsea O’Donnell is simply an 18-year-old who is balking at adult supervision, or is there something more going on between her and Rosie O’Donnell?
Either way, there’s no way Chelsea’s words didn’t break Rosie’s heart.
