Chelsea Handler may not be doing Chelsea Lately anymore, but after an ugly end to the show last summer, she says she is so ready to move on.
Known for her blunt and truthful opinions on current events and issues, Chelsea Handler just had to have a talk show somewhere.
Chelsea Lately had an immense following and a great fan base which will now be able to see her on Netflix.
At the Television Critics Association’s semi-annual press tour on Tuesday, Chelsea Handler admitted that she had to start somewhere, saying she “had to get my brain working again” before her new stint on Netflix.
But, Chelsea Handler took the high road and didn’t criticize her former network.
She said, “I’ve said enough … I don’t think anyone else needs to hear me bitch about E!.”
In fact the only mention Chelsea Handler made of the incident was a quick reference to a character flaw that helped do her show in. She said, “That’s the good thing about me — I’m always telling the truth.”
That is no lie. Chelsea Handler has never been afraid to tell it like she sees it. Or show her boobs. Or her naked bum.
And, Chelsea Handler is definitely not afraid of any criticism of herself or any other woman.
In response to a comment made by Michael Eisner that it is “impossible to find” a woman that is both pretty and funny, she didn’t mince words.
Chelsea Handler said of Eisner’s comment, “It’s just a really stupid thing to say. What, as soon as your pretty, your funny genes get taken away? It’s just such a stupid notion.”
She added, “I think men a lot of times like to celebrate less attractive women who are funny. Pretty girls come along and they’re a little more threatened.”
