Chaka Khan is performing at this year’s Stanislaus County Fair in Turlock, California in July. The Modesto Bee made the announcement just a couple of days ago.
“Listen up, funk fans, we’re gonna tell you something good: Chaka Khan will perform at this year’s Stanislaus County Fair,” the report reads.

A 10-time Grammy Award winner, Chaka Khan had hits both as a solo artist and with the band Rufus. Those hits–for which she has received a total of 22 Grammy Award nominations–include “Tell Me Something Good,” “I’m Every Woman,” “Ain’t Nobody,” and “Through the Fire.”
Adrenna Alkhas is the spokeswoman for the Stanislaus County Fair.
“Chaka Khan is a musical icon,”she says. “The concert will be fierce, with a high-energy performance bringing all her loved songs.”
Chaka Khan didn’t make many–possibly not any–fans during her time as a contestant on Dancing With the Stars this past fall. In fact, she was the first to go home out of all the contestants. She won’t get voted off the stage at the Stanislaus County Fair–that’s for certain.
The Stanislaus County Fair isn’t your ordinary county fair. In addition to Chaka Khan they will host singers including Dwight Yoakam and the country group Parmalee.
You can be sure fans will line up early to buy their fair passes, which go on sale April 30. The concerts are free with paid admission to the fair. People from all over California–and beyond–will no doubt want in on this fair, especially with Chaka Khan performing one of the nights.
