Carrie Underwood is an accomplished singer, songwriter and actress. Now, she’s adding yet another title to her list – mommy!

According to E! News, the 31-year-old singer and her husband NHL player Mike Fisher are expecting their first child!

On Monday, September 1, the Blown Away singer took to Twitter and Instagram with an adorable announcement most fans would have only caught if they paid close attention.

Underwood posted a picture sitting in a chair holding her two dogs.

One had on a blue shirt that read, “I’m going to be a big brother,” and the dog sitting in her lap had on a pink shirt that read, “I’m going to be a big sister.” The caption also raised eyebrows!

“In honor of “Labor” Day, Ace & Penny would like to make an announcement,” she captioned on Instagram. “Their parents couldn’t be happier…”

The subliminal picture immediately raised speculation. So, the singer’s representative confirmed the news!

However, she wasn’t always excited about parenthood. As a matter of fact, last year she revealed how nervous she was about having a child. “I don’t feel old enough to have kids,” she told Marie Claire magazine. “I know I am mature. But being responsible for another human?”

Although the “Before He Cheats” singer opened up about her apprehension of being responsible for another person, she’s reportedly elated about becoming a mother.

Luckily, she’ll be embracing parenthood with her husband by her side. On several occasions, she’s expressed that he’s extremely supportive. She’s even revealed how they make their relationship work!

“Communication, trust, and Skype are key,” she said during an interview with Ladies Home Journal. Underwood and Fisher met at one of her concerts back in 2008. They announced their engagement in December of 2009. The couple married on July 10, 2010 at The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Georgia.
