Here in the U.S., Google is running a doodle for Veterans Day, but that’s not the only one the company has up today. In Mexico, Google is honoring novelist Carlos Fuentes on what would have been his 85th birthday.
Fuentes is known for works like Artemio Cruz, Aura, The Old Gringo and Christopher Unborn. He’s been considered as “one of the most admired writers in the Spanish-speaking world” (NYT), and has been considered for the Nobel Prize in Literature, though he never actually won the award.

Fuentes died last year from a massive hemorrhage in a Mexico City hospital after he as found collapsed in his home.
