Candace Cameron Bure served as co-host of The View on Tuesday and got into a heated argument with Raven Symone over lesbian wedding cake.

Yes, you read that correctly. It was a lesbian wedding cake clash.

The clash stemmed from the owner of an Oregon bakery refusing to fill an order for a lesbian couple planning to marry.

“The Oregon law bars businesses from discriminating against sexual orientation, race, disability, age or religion,” Raven Symone argued, “and to me, it’s the same exact thing that they did back in the day saying that black people couldn’t do certain things because it’s my ‘religious belief.'”

The Fuller House star–Candace Cameron Bure will reprise her Full House role as D.J. Tanner on the upcoming series–accused Symone of comparing apples to oranges.

“I don’t think this is discrimination at all. This is about freedom of association,” she said. “It’s about constitutional rights. It’s about First Amendment rights. We do have the right to still choose who we associate with.”

“[The bakery] didn’t refuse to bake the cake because of [the couple’s] sexual orientation,” Candace Cameron Bure continued. “In fact, they baked cakes for them previously. They had a problem with the actual ceremony because that–the ceremony–is what conflicted with their religious beliefs. They are saying that they stand for marriage between a man and a woman.”

Candace Cameron Bure is a noted ultra-conservative Christian. Her brother, former Growing Pains star Kirk Cameron, is an evangelist.

Raven Symone became so upset over Bure’s views that she cut the actress off.

“I refuse to associate with you right now,” she told Candace Cameron Bure.

Whoopi Goldberg sided with Symone. “Were [the bakers] invited to the wedding?” the comic asked.

They weren’t.

Raven Symone admitted to Oprah Winfrey back in 2014 that she was in a relationship with another woman, so this no doubt added a bit of insult to injury during the lesbian wedding cake clash.

Incidentally, the Oregon Labor Commission has just recently ordered Aaron and Melissa Klein, the former owners of the Sweet Cakes by Melissa bakery in Gresham, Oregon, to pay $135,000 to compensate Rachel and Laurel Bowman-Cryer–the lesbian couple who ordered a wedding cake–for the emotional and mental anguish they suffered when the Kleins refused to make their cake. Aaron and Melissa Klein, who are also devout Christians, have vowed to appeal the ruling.
