Caitlyn Jenner stepped out to an annual Pride event in New York City on Sunday, and she arrived to cheers from fellow event goers.
Jenner, who famously went public with her transition on the cover of Vanity Fair recently, wasn’t just at the Dream Downtown Hotel to bask in attention; she was there to celebrate the Supreme Court ruling that same sex marriage is now legal in all 50 states, and was also reportedly filming an episode of her new reality show, I Am Cait, which debuts on E! July 26. The show will follow her as she explores life as a woman, but it’s not clear at this point how many of her family members will be included. Her stepchildren, the Kardashians, have all been very supportive of the transition and took to social media the day the magazine cover was released to let everyone know their love for Caitlyn–formerly Bruce Jenner–hasn’t changed.
“Elated by the overwhelming support for Bruce’s bravery&courage to be himself.Woke up with a smile on my face knowing this will change lives,” Kourtney said on Twitter.
Caitlyn has become more open about her marriage to Kris Jenner after rumors began to fly that her gender transitioning was the reason for their divorce. Recently, she said that her gender identity was only part of the issue.
“A lot of times she wasn’t very nice. People would see how I got mistreated. She controlled the money…all that kind of stuff. Twenty percent was gender and 80 percent was the way I was treated,” Caitlyn said of their 23-year marriage.
While Kris Jenner’s sister, Karen Houghton, says that Caitlyn’s transition was “humiliating” for Kris, a source tells RadarOnline that Kourtney Kardashian has been trying to ease the tension between Kris and Caitlyn Jenner and that Kris wants to be supportive.
“Kourtney has been playing mediator between Bruce and Kris because she is the only one that Bruce will listen to out of the three Kardashian girls. Kris asked Kourtney for her help because really wanted to talk to Bruce face to face. She wanted to let Bruce know that she is now fully supportive of his transition to and she also wants to be involved in the process,” a source said.
